WIP Wednesday 4

Today I thought I would bring you a splash of color of a personal work-in-progress. I took a slight break from working this weekend and focused on my own project for a couple of days.

We celebrated my husband’s 30th birthday on Saturday. We had 22 people over in our tiny little apartment, including kids! It was wonderfully insane. For his birthday breakfast, he asked for biscuits and gravy. It’s a once-a-year indulgence and was quite tasty. Also, it was my first time cooking gluten-free biscuits (rather than using regular flour or Paleo ingredients.) I was quite happy with the result. I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of the party or food Saturday night.

After that I was feeling a little exhausted so I decided to work on a personal project to refocus and recharge. I am on my last color repeat of my Granny Stripe blanket, and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s so exciting to be almost done with this year-long WIP.

Ack, look at all those ends!

I will admit to having too much fun taking pictures of this blanket. The colors are so beautiful.

I think I have finally settled on the border colors. The blanket will be square and needs a few extra inches all around. I’m going to use these top 5 shades of teals and blues. When I showed them to my husband, he remarked, “Yep, definitely Jacey colors!” I do love blues and teals.

On the work related front, I have a monster in progress and also shot pictures for my ear warmer pattern yesterday afternoon. The pattern will include helpful photos for some of the trickier parts.

Here is a peak at the monster:

While working on the ear warmer, I had a fun time choosing buttons.

Well, that’s all for now. I will be releasing the ear warmer pattern very soon. It is being tested right now and will hopefully be out this Friday. Very exciting!

    • For the majority of the blanket I have been very good and making myself weave them in after every entire color repeat. And for the beginning of each row I weave them in and around as I crochet, so there is only one end per color. That being said, I have been a bit lazy with these last rows. I’ll have to plug in a movie and have an end-weaving night soon.
