Baby on the brain

In two weeks I find out if I’m having a boy or girl. Until then, I’m having fun making projects for both newborn boys or girls. Whichever I don’t use, I will either give to someone or donate to a local charity.

Recently, on my Facebook page, I’ve been getting a lot of messages concerning baby booties. So I figured I could kill two birds with one stone with these projects: brush up on my bootie making skills, and make something for myself for when baby arrives.

The knit hat pattern is Basic Baby Beanie. The bootie pattern is Baby Snuggly Snuggs.

The yarn is Redheart Boutique Unforgettable in Dragonfly and Petunia.

Ok, enough of the boring stuff. Want to see too many pictures of knitted hats and crocheted booties? Ok, me too!

I think subconsciously I must be wanting a boy, because I knitted the blue set first. This pair came out closer to 0-3 month size, at about 3.25″ for the sole. Probably too big for a newborn, but they will last longer for a baby.

I may have gotten a little carried away with the pictures, but that’s ok, right?

If you ever want to keep a closer watch on the things I’m making, hop on over to my Ravelry profile and take a look. I try to keep personal notes on projects that are helpful to me, and am fairly good about tracking what yarn and hook/needle size I use.

I hope you are having a great week. Thanks for stopping by!
